Jamie S. Pekarek Krohn
I have had the wonderful privilege of creating Therapy Space with Amy Thomas and Brenda Heideman. We met when my family moved to Madison, WI in 2012 and found we shared a similar vision of creating a warm, comfortable place for our clients. I have enjoyed building my practice and seeing how Therapy Space has become a solid part of the mental health community in Madison.
My journey as a therapist at Therapy Space will be coming to an end in May as I take time to step back and reflect on my work and how best to use my energy, both professionally and personally. I have taken this time in the past and find it gives me important perspective and time for open reflection. I will miss my individual work with clients, all of whom I am so grateful for allowing me to be a part of their exploration.
As I step back from my psychotherapy practice, should you need to contact me for any reason I can be reached at the above contact information.
A bit about me
I received my Master’s Degree from DePaul University in Counseling and Human Services and went on to complete a 2 year certification program at the Chicago Institute of Psychoanalysis in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. In addition to my current private practice, I am on the advisory board for Erasing the Distance (www.erasingthedistance.org), and mentor and serve as a Professional Advisor for DePaul University students. Prior to moving to Madison I was in private practice in Chicago, a therapist at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in their Partial Hospitalization Program for Eating Disorders, and adjunct faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In 2014 I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at The Studio in Madison, WI. I am also a member of the Madison Area Wellness Collective (MAWC). Please find out more about it as well as a list of other provider members at http://www.madisonwellnesscollective.org/
